Christa Parrish is the award-winning author of five novels and founder of Narratology, a fair trade social enterprise that empowers marginalized families and funds a stitching training center in Kasur, Pakistan. She lives in New Jersey with her husband, writer Chris Coppernoll, and they have four children in their blended family. When not writing, she is engaging creatively in too many ways, as well as home educating her children. She's at work on her sixth and seventh novels, and is still slightly obsessed with baking wild yeast bread.

A NOTE ABOUT NARRATOLOGY

As an author, I've spent the last 15 years immersed in stories. As someone who takes the words of Jesus seriously, I understand that I have an obligation to love my neighbor as myself, and that includes my buying habits. It isn't loving if the purchases I make harm others through low wages, forced labor, dangerous working conditions, and family separation.

Benedictine nun and peacemaker Mary Lou Kownacki once said, "There isn’t anyone you couldn’t love once you’ve heard their story." Mr. Rogers kept this quote in his wallet. I try to remember these words in my writing and daily living. And that's the mission of Narratology - to tell the stories of others through the products we sell. Many of those items are from social enterprises around the world, providing living wages for skilled artisans, refugees, and at-risk women. We also offer items the are handmade by artists and small family businesses who share our values. Every item is carefully curated. One hundred percent of our net profits from online sales are given to story-shaping organizations both in the United States and abroad.

You can learn more about Narratology and the work we’re going at www.narratology.gives (our retail shop is currently closed due to our move to New Jersey, but hopefully will be back in business by Spring 2023).
